Taiyaki (anko) wasn’t bad but have had much better. A little too sweet and the shell could be crispier. Wouldn’t stand in line again ?

Literally a hole in the wall in Harmonica Yokocho. There is usually a line but not too long of a wait. I don't know about the complaints on here -- my tai yaki has always been good! They only sell until they run out so maybe if you get one of the last ones, it may very well not be the freshest. Anyway, the tai yaki is my preferred style of not too cake-like and not too much bean filling, plus it's made in a square shape retaining the crispy edges around the fish. Quite worth trying out in my opinion.

Amazing taiyaki. The taste and texture is great and the red bean paste is different - and tastes much better than the other taiyaki's red bean pastes I've had before. The size is also quite big and it fills you up. It's a must go every time I go to Kichijoji.

Taste so so, red bean a bit too sweet. But seems to be the local taste

We really enjoyed the dango that tasted like peanut and miso. That peanut and miso dango was sold out fast and we only got one skewer. The other two dango flavours was good also. The taiyaki red bean sweetness was just the best. We didn't get chance to eat the taiyaki while it's hot because we brought it home to eat so the outer layer was cold but still good. The line wasn't too long but doesn't seem to ever run out of customers.

I know Red bean paste sweets are not everyone’s cup of tea, but I am a fan. Especially when it comes to “Taiyaki” or a red bean puff in the shape of a red snapper. This is my favorite place so far, tucked away in a backstreet in Kichijoji. It’s a bit nostalgic and a few of know-local feel waiting to get hands on one. Even if you are not a fan, it’s a joy walking around here.

Great Taiyaki! Yummy! Taiyaki is a fish shaped cake with sweet red bean paste inside. Taiyaki is a great treat to indulge in, especially during the cold winter.
