★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 東京国立博物館で国包本人作の刀を見てきました。...非常に立派で、思わず見とれてしまいました。
当時、刀などの出来を4等級に分けて評価するというものがあったそうで、国包はその中でも最上級ランクの「最上大業物」にランク付けされていたそうです。そのランクでは14人の刀工しか認められておらず、伊達家お抱えであった理由も頷ける、素晴らしい職人であった事が伺えます。
このような方が仙台にいたという事を誇りに思うとともに、もっと知られるべきお方のように私は思います。
