★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 明治18年（1885年）、明治天皇が宮島からこの地に上陸されたのを記念する碑が建っている。
石碑の裏には、はっきりとは読めなかったが、地御前村阿品などの有志が桟橋を作って迎えたというようなことが書いてあるのではないか。
大きな石碑の近くに東宮殿下御成婚記念の碑が建っているが、これがいつのものかなどはわからなかった。
