鍋	鍋割山のギン太 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ このお寺には、鎌倉幕府の執権であった北条時頼が旅の僧に身をやつして、一夜の宿を借りたという言い伝えがあります。朝になって僧が発ったあと、そのことに気づいた住職が後を追わせましたが、時頼は逃げるように、利根川の渡しへの坂を下り、船に乗って行ってしまったのだそうです。その故事から、時頼が下っていった坂は鎌倉坂と呼ばれています。坂を下った場所には、舟つなぎ石が残っています。その頃の利根川は、いまよりもずっと川幅が広く「一里の渡し」と呼ばれていたともいいます(^^) ただ…川岸にある傾斜地が崩れて崖になっている場所を「カマ」といい、川底の窪みや洞穴、岩場のことを「クラ」ともいうので、もともと地形からできたカマクラという名前に、あとから伝説が生まれたのかも知れません。私は時頼説の方が好きですが…(^_^;) In this temple, there is a legend that Hojo Tokuri, who was the conspiracy of the Kamakura Shogunate, gave himself a trip monk and borrowed overnight accommodation.
