If you ever fall in love with a fox and dreams to touch it once. Here is the answer. It not just a place to visited like a zoo but also a fox nursery. They also took care of an injury fox. Here the fox could roam around without being hunt. There also a fox which you can hug and touch alive. The parking is free, still if you visited by taxi or hotel's service drop you hare and you wish to go somewhere else. You could ask them to call the taxi for you. Recommended to visited during autumn and winter since their fur would be full and they look so cute that way. But if you wanna see their baby the staff recommended to visited during spring instead.

This is a good place to visit in winter. The parking is free. The foxes are cute and humble. But still, be careful, they are omnivorous by nature ;) would recommend coming early by 11 AM. We can easily spend 1-2 hours here, more than that is pushing it! Food is not available nearby, so please have at home. Don’t try the food there, not worth. I am rating it 5 because I came here for seeing the fox, and I have seen the fox. Mission accomplished!

I came there to get my own opinion about that place. I didn’t like it. Lot of foxes , some in cages in the wind, bored, and some outside. Saw one or two with blood on their faces. Just stayed 30 min, didn’t feel like i wanted to stay more.

Great place! I enjoyed a lot here with foxes and snow. You can take the bus from Shiroishizao Station (Shinkansen stop), but it only has 2 phases a day (10:10 and 13:10), and no bus on Wed and Thu.

Must read: During 8th month all days will be working day but other than 8th month all Wednesday will be non working day, so please contact the location before going don’t believe the timings given on google maps Review: First of all this is my time seeing fox so close, true that they are so lean, wounded and not properly maintained, don’t know the exact cause of it, would be happy if the maintenance improves a bit to save those foxes. Many varieties were there, pups were taken care properly, they have goats and mini horses which was very odd?(don’t know why they have it).If you pay extra 600yen you can touch a fox and if you pay 200yen you could feed foxes, if you get a chance please feed them though it is costly.

Definitely a top spot that should be in every Japan checklist. The sight of foxes running around freely and between red tori gates is amazing. Its a fenced large area where you can freely take photos of foxes running around. The staff will tell you not to pet them or they bite. There is also a feeding area where you can buy food to feed them. Quite fun. Bring 100 yen change. A lot of it. Staff are helpful & guide you if you know Japanese well. The way to reach here easily is a taxi from either of the stations (Shiroishi or Shiroishi-Zao). 5k around one way. They will book a taxi for you on the way back from the reception area.

A very enjoyable place to visit for animal lovers. There are many foxes roaming within a large enclosed outdoor park. Because of foxes' sleep cycle, you're best to get there first thing when they open to see the foxes being lively. The foxes become sleepy as you get towards mid-day. It's cute to watch them sleep, but only for so long.

How to reach: From Tokyo you can take Tohoku Shinkansen to Shiroishi Zao station. From this station bus is available for fox village twice a day at 10:00 and at 13:00. Taxi is the most reliable however it costs 5000 each way. Weather: I visited the Fox village in December, weather was -3 deg c and windy. About Fox village experience: Entry ticket is 1000 yen per adult and free for children. Pros: Foxes are very cute, they roam freely. Most are calm and sitting quietly, easy to take photos. Separate Feeding area is there. You can cuddle foxes for 600 yen and staff will take photographs with our smartphone. This experience is totally worth it, I would say this is the only thing you will like about the place. There are some goats and other animals. Goats are very cute and friendly Cons: Some staff are not so friendly, especially at ticket counter, it is insulated especially in tourist area. When asked about when we can hold foxes, they told us to look for board. similar experience at gift shop. Fox poo in the walking path and smell is bad, could use some cleaning. It was very slippery, placing handrails would help. Place Could use some maintenance. There is no place to buy food, you can buy few drinks like coffee, tea and water.
