★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ｢雁金山」は秀吉の2回に及ぶ中国攻め(鳥取城攻め)の古戦場です。
鳥取城跡のある久松山の左側の嶺続きの小高い山が雁金山で、鳥取城を守る重要な砦でした。雁金山に上がる山道には遺跡が残ります。
久松山を軸にした左側の嶺続きの雁金山、さらに丸山へと至る姿はまるで堅固な一枚屏風のようです。
現在は｢雁金山」山頂に(平和記念塔)が建ち市民生活の平和と安全を祈願しています。お盆時期の前後の期間にはライトアップされます。
