★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 記念碑は湯所町(円護寺隧道)手前(平和塔入口)に丁度50年前の昭和46年(1971年)11月6日に建立です。
NHK連続テレビ小説｢虹」(昭和45年3月から翌年4月までの１年間、全国放送)で鳥取市のゆかりの場所(賀露漁港、千代川、摩尼寺、久松山城跡等)が度々放映されました。
作家の田中澄江さん(故人)は戦時中、家族一家が鳥取市へ疎開し、その後も度々鳥取市と深いご縁で多くの小説を書いて鳥取が登場します。
記念碑の建立場所は16世紀後半期の戦乱の鳥取城守りの(砦)が築かれ、攻防戦があった最前線です。
田中澄江氏が描く女性主人公の生きる姿勢と相通じる意味でこの場に建立と選定されたのかも知れません。
 The monument was erected on November 6, 1971, exactly 50 years ago, in front of Yutokoro-cho (Engoji tunnel) (Heiwatou entrance).
The NHK TV series "Niji" (national broadcast for one year from March 1970 to April of the following year) frequently airs places related to Tottori City (Karo fishing port, Sendai River, Maniji, Kyushosan castle ruins, etc.) I did.
During the war, the writer Sumie Tanaka (deceased) evacuated the family to Tottori City, and after that, Tottori often wrote many novels with a deep connection with Tottori City.
The place where the monument was erected was the fort of the war-torn Tottori Castle in the latter half of the 16th century, and it was the front line where there was an offensive and defensive battle.
It may have been selected as a erection here in the sense that it is compatible with the living attitude of the female hero drawn by Sumie Tanaka.
