★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing place to stay! Fantastic views from the room of mountains and forests. Sparkling clean onsens, and delicious, healthy and authentic traditional Japanese meals. Staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable, and we're always very friendly and approachable. This is the perfect place to relax and recharge on a busy holiday. If you want to have a real Japanese rural traditional experience in an onsen, go here!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Over rated place, rooms are very basics and noisy, onsen are small and can get crowed at some point, food is ok but nothing incredible, fish and rice for breakfast and note that they charge you extra fees for your stay and the onsen access( nothing huge though but still according to the price of the stay it seemed inapropriate for us) Nothing fancy or comfy so we found it too expensive for what it was.
However staff is very friendly and outside onsen in late night or early morning when not busy can be very relaxing !

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice Ryokan with Onsen and good food.
Beautifully situated against the forest.
Good walking trails up into the mountains.
We spend two good days here with breakfast and dinner included.
Traditional Japanese dishes, locally produced ingredients ??
The only reason it didn’t get 5 stars is the price.
other ryokans in this price-range had drinks included in the half board price.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely LOVED my stay here. Staff are super nice, and it's fairly English friendly. The meals they serve are among the best I've had in Kyoto, and the scenery is spectacular. I plan on coming here again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great value. Enjoyed the miso chicken nabe for dinner and had a simple but healthy breakfast. We had one hour in the private bath on our plan. The public baths were big and clean. They swap the male and female bath overnight so you can experience both.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very nice place to stay in the mountains. Close to Jokko-in Temple and ~15 minutes’ walk to the bus station (they also offer a shuttle). The staff were welcoming and friendly. The evening meals were a lot of food for two people but very high quality ingredients (first night was shabu-shabu and second night sukiyaki, which we ourselves made at the table with some help from the staff here and there). The onsen are very nice, I especially liked the outdoor rock one. There is also a small cafe with a footbath just outside the main entrance that I highly recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A visitor friendly inn, clean and monolithic design. Good service and explanation. Tasty shabu dinner, lots of veggies and juicy chicken. Hot spring is good with outdoor. Only that it’s shared toilet but still clean and tidy. Great value for money

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Employees went out of their way to accommodate us. Cleanliness is of the highest standard. We chose beef and it was gorgeous. Very nice hot bath. The surrounding mountain scenery is beautiful and peaceful. We chose to book a private Onsen for personal use. Easily accessible to taxi from the hotel.
