★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went there with a group of friends late at night for a quiet bath after a big event. One of the attendees that is in charge of maintaining the bath area circled around us repeatedly, staring as he went by each time. We tried to ignore this unwarranted attention, but we became uncomfortable as it seemed to be only because we were foreigners. As I was sitting chest deep in an outdoor bath alone, I felt a strong double tap on my shoulder. Startled, I turned to see another attendant with his finger pointed at my face saying, "tattoos prohibited! Get out please!" In Japanese. He said it in a loud aggressive tone that, along with the forceful tapping on my shoulder surprised me. This is not Japanese style. As a towel was on my shoulder from the time I undressed to the time I left, he had no idea if I in fact did or did not have a tattoo under the towel. He kept saying, "take off the towel and show me your arm!". I replied I wouldn't as it it's not any business of his or anyone else's what was under my towel. Other Japanese came to my rescue and told him to stop it as I was quietly minding my own business and we were all enjoying the bath. He yelled and barked at me until everyone gave up and my group just left. This was unacceptable in my opinion as all of us made an effort to care for the highly fragile sensibilities of the older generation when it comes to being confronted with people and things they don't understand. To be confronted in such an aggressive manner for something they only assumed to be there was quite frustrating. I wouldn't recommend this place because not because of their policies per se, but because of their inability to treat customers with a basic level of respect.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cozy facility with diverse baths and an excellent restaurant. Massage chairs and a tatami area for after. Plus a juice bar! Very popular, so expect a crowd unless you come at odd hours.
