★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 御祭神は天照大神。永承6（1051）年，源義家が奥州十二年戦争の凱旋の際，通りがかったこの地の美しさに魅了され，背負っていた弓矢を岩窟に納めて武運長久を祈った。その後，義家の勧請により当社が創建され，その時の矢が奉納された。矢祭町の町名はその故事に由来するそうで，となると矢祭町で役場などより最重要スポットということになりましょうが，その割にその後の沿革などの情報は見つかりませんでした。
矢祭駅より国道118号線を300メートルほど南西，国道ギリギリに張り付くように石段があり，鳥居を通り過ぎて登った先が緑に囲まれた境内です。拝殿は正面が開かれており，裏に回ると彩色鮮やかな御本殿が鎮座していらっしゃいました。この辺りには珍しく覆屋がありません。
緑が煌めき輝くような美しい御神域であります。
 The deity is Amaterasu Omikami. In the 6th year of Eisho (1051), Minamoto no Yoshiie was fascinated by the beauty of the passing land during the triumphal return of the 12th year of the Oshu War. After that, the company was founded at the request of Yoshiie, and the arrow at that time was dedicated. It seems that the town name of Yamatsuri Town is derived from that event, so it would be the most important spot in Yamatsuri Town rather than the government office, but for that reason, I could not find any information such as the history after that.
About 300 meters southwest of Route 118 from Yamatsuri Station, there are stone steps that stick to the edge of the national highway, and the precincts are surrounded by greenery after passing the torii gate. The front of the hall of worship is open, and when you turn to the back, the colorful main hall is enshrined. There is rarely a cover around here.
It is a beautiful sanctuary where the green is shining.
