★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food was fine and the service was friendly, but there was some kind of bug crawling along the wall next to out table, and the bathroom smelled horrendous, like the whole space had been soaked in formaldehyde.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love Yama-chan as a whole but this one was pretty bad.. the food is probably fine because it's the same at each location, but the staff are.. rude? Inattentive? Awkward? All 3?
I went in with a friend and we only had about 45min to eat, we sat down (after a confusing conversation with the staff, none of whom are Japanese and don't really.. speak it with an accent I can understand at all, so it took a minute of back and forth to work out that they were asking if I wanted a table or booth) and started looking at the menu and a waitress just came over and took the menu and turned it to the drink page.. rude in itself but maybe she thought she was being helpful. I said in Japanese that we just wanted water and she repeated back what I said then sent over another guy who silently handed us a paper explaining that they had a one-drink policy. I asked if non-alcoholic drinks were included and all he said was 'oh, you speak Japanese?' and then turned the menu page to the non-alcoholic drinks...
We tried to call a server over to order after that but they were all too busy either 1) blatantly arguing with each other and 2) playing with a lighter? So we just said we didn't have time and left. I would pick any other Yama-chan over this one.
