★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 聖徳太子（厩戸王）を祀る広隆寺の本堂で、現在のお堂は江戸時代の建立。仏閣なのに近世以降の神社建築の典型構造である権現造りなのは珍しく、本殿部分の窓が禅宗様の火灯窓なのもその折衷・神仏習合の有りようが面白い。
聖徳太子は如意輪観音が本地仏とみなされて（端的に言えば観音菩薩の転生）信仰されて来た、神仏習合的に言えば「権現」なので、権現造が採用されたのはその辺りが理由なのだろうと思われる。
他に権現造りの仏殿としては、東京の雑司ヶ谷鬼子母神堂、日光の輪王寺大雄院殿（徳川家光霊廟）などが現存する他、戦災で焼失してるが上野寛永寺、芝増上寺の徳川将軍家の霊廟は権現造りだった。
なお京都では権現造りの神社は珍しく、そのプロトタイプ的な造りの北野天満宮社殿、南禅寺金地院内の金地院東照宮くらいしかない。
 It is the main hall of Koryuji Temple that enshrines Shotoku Prince (Kamado), and the present hall was built in the Edo period. Although it is a Buddhist temple, it is rare that it is Gongen-zukuri, which is a typical structure of shrine architecture from the early modern period.

Other Gongen-style Buddhist temples include Zoshigaya Kikomo Shrine in Tokyo and Rinnoji Daiyuin Temple (Tokugawa Iemitsu Mausoleum) in Nikko. The mausoleum of the Tokugawa Shogunate was Gongen-zukuri.
Gongen-style shrines are rare in Kyoto, and there are only prototypes such as Kitano Tenmangu Shrine and Kinchi-in Toshogu in Nanzen-ji Kinchi-in.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 享保15年（1730）建立の建物で、広隆寺の本堂だそうです。ご本尊は秘仏の聖徳太子像で11月22日に開扉されるそうです。
特別公開で堂内を一度拝観した事があります。かなり前ですが。
