土	土田知 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 外観もキレイな駅です。二階の新幹線フロアには観光案内所も新設。 Kioskも地酒の品揃えも良いです。新幹線利用では奥只見への定期バスも出ています。(観光シーズン限定) 年間を通じてのーオススメの観光スポットは「毘沙門堂」荘厳な建物は必見です。 3月に開催される裸まつりは有名です。西口より歩いて行けます。東口の国道沿いに田中角栄さんの銅像が立ってます。唯一の欠点は一階の在来線ホームへは階段しかない。この時代にーエレベーターもエスカレーターも無いのはありえないです。ここがマイナス点ですね。駅近くの飲食店は少ないですがー西口の「えづみや」と東口駅前の「小玉屋」は美味しいお店です。 1月8日駅周辺から美しい雪山を見る事ができます。八海山や越後駒ヶ岳は迫力があります。 The station has a beautiful appearance. N	Norisuke Nakamura on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 上越新幹線・在来線の接続駅です。ホーム（新幹線・在来線とも）・構内には待合室が完備されています。新幹線ホームが3階、改札が2階、在来線ホームが1階という構造ですが、1階の在来線ホームにはエレベーターがありません。又、1階の毘沙門天口（西口）にもエレベーターがない（上りエスカレーターはある）為体の不自由な方が利用する際には注意が必要です。在来線は自動改札ではありません。スキーや観光客を意識してか駅構内がやたらと広く設備も充実していますが、ロッカーが少ない等ちぐはぐな印象が拭えません。上越新幹線で東京から新潟へ向かう場合は越後湯沢・浦佐・長岡の順ですが、浦佐からどちらへ行くにも在来線で30分ちょっと、新幹線で10分ちょっととほぼ中間に位置しています。閑散期とはいえほとんど利用客のいない駅構内に佇んでいると、失礼ながらふと「この（新幹線）駅って必要？」という思いが湧いてきます。 It is a connecting station for the Joetsu Shinkansen and conventional lines.
