改札から出る必要はありますが、屋外に出ないでお店に入れるのはありがたいですね。
ちはみに、上野駅であれば改札内にユニクロがありますよ。
It is UNIQLO in the premises of Kawasaki Station.
You need to get out of the ticket gate, but it's nice to enter the store without going outdoors.
By the way, at Ueno Station, there is UNIQLO inside the ticket gate.

New checkout system was not simple or staff didn't have time or skill to explain in English, to be fair it was busy and the queue moved quickly.
