御祭神は宇迦魂命。境内の説明板によれば，「創建年代は不詳。神体木像は，たび重なる火難をまぬがれている。また境内には，大六天宮（山倉大神）の社と大山阿夫利神社が合祀されている。」等々ありました。府中七稲荷のひとつ。鎮座地は，旧・水戸街道（国道355号線）の守木町（中町）商店街から一本東へ入った路地沿いで少し探し回ってしまいました。ここは旧・守横町といい，正横年間（1644-1647）に守木横町の略として改名されたそうです。以上，「健康ウォーキングコース」15番の看板に記されていたことでありますが，コース名のネーミングセンスはともかく，このように詳しく由緒など説明があるのは有り難いですね。
