★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 中綱湖西岸を往く千国街道がようやく中綱の集落に入りかけた道脇（東側）に立っている小さな社殿が氏神社――春日大社を祀る――です。この氏神を祀っているのは、この村に３つしかない氏族のひとつ、西澤氏だそうです。この社殿の前で偶然、その西澤家門の一因だというお爺さんに出会って話を聞くことができました。
室町時代から仁科氏の家臣だった領主たちによる仁科高原とその北にある佐野坂峠、そして白馬村へと移住して農地と集落を開拓する動きが始まったそうです。そのうちのいくいつかの家門が中綱湖の西岸――当時は広大な湿原と湿地帯――に根を下ろして集落を営み、水田地帯を開いたようです。そして、家門ごとに集落の要所に氏神社を設けて祀ったそうです。
 The small shrine that stands on the side of the road (east side) where the Senkoku Kaido that goes to the west bank of Lake Nakatsuna finally enters the village of Nakatsuna is the shrine-Kasuga Taisha Shrine. It is said that Mr. Nishizawa, one of the only three clans in this village, enshrines this deity. In front of this shrine, I happened to meet and hear an old man who was one of the causes of the Nishizawa family.
From the Muromachi period, the lords who were vassals of Mr. Nishina moved to the Nishina Plateau, the Sanosaka Pass to the north, and Hakuba Village to develop farmland and villages. It seems that some of the lineages took root in the west bank of Lake Nakatsuna-the vast marshes and wetlands at that time-and ran villages and opened paddy fields. And it is said that a shrine was set up at a key point in the village for each lineage and enshrined.
