★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After years of being an afterthought, the space in front of Tokyo Station has finally received it's appropriate upgrade by becoming a wide, beautiful plaza that leads all the way up to the Imperial Palace. It has become a protocol street as well, as state events held at the Palace will almost always involve the plaza where foreign dignitaries are supposed to come up from when they enter the Imperial Palace.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The place is beautiful and ethnic because it is surrounded by a modern skyscraper. You can relax first here if it is still a checking in at the hotel or apartment and if it takes food buy in the station area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The north side is a popular place for wedding photography. Beautiful area at night open place, small motorbike gathering on some weekend nights. It leads to the Emperor's palace gardens. The Marunochi area has a nice street with stores, restaurants and cafe's

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The old architecture really stands out amidst the newer buildings that surround it. This seems to be a great place for wedding pictures, as I saw around 5 couples in the area at sunset on a Thursday afternoon.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It’s very spacious, and the Tokyo station building is very beautiful and timeless. The skyscrapers nearby as well as the Imperial Palace in front makes it a spot where you can really experience all kinds of architecture. It may just be me, but taking photos of Tokyo Station makes me feel like it’s slightly tilted and is therefor less satisfying than perfect symmetry.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Marunouchi station building is brick-built and it’s beautiful. It’s designed by architect Tatsuno Kingo and opens in 1914. Designated as an important cultural property of Japan.
I liked to walk a broad road towards the station from Imperial palace.
