I rarely get disappointed, but a rude start definitely helps me get there. I went to the restaurant, which is on the 22nd floor of the Tokyo Westin, with my family. We asked if we could order from the “à la cart menu.” The Maitre d’s assistant said yes. Therefore, we asked for a table. She said, “It’s reservations only!” So we asked her if we could get reservations for that same evening. She responded, “I am sorry, we are fully booked for the rest of the evening!” Just to double check, we took the elevator down to the lobby of the hotel and inquired with the concierge. Very courteously, he called the restaurant and made us a reservation for 10 minutes later. He even apologized that we had to wait 10 minutes, which we did with no problem. Once seated, we observed that there was plenty of room at the restaurant — it was only half full! Although, that is not what I can say for the dining experience. I would consider it way less than half full! To begin with, the chefs appeared barely alive; going through their motions as if they were working at a factory line — no emotions and no interactions! Some people enjoy their food by the price they pay. For me, on the other hand, it’s about a lot more than that. We are in a new millennium, and this restaurant is stuck in the past. There was very little purpose behind their food. No organic products (or at least non stated), and no descent vegan and/or vegetarian options, unless one just wants to eat mushrooms, a few Brussels sprouts, and three potatoes. To expand more on the food, except to say that it was ok and eatable, would be to waste your time. To summarize, if you are staying at the Tokyo Westin and want to enjoy a Teppanyaki dinner experience, save the time and money and wait till you get back home and just go to your local Benihana’s. If what you want is the view, just go to the lounge (on same floor) and have a drink with appetizers.

Visited on Christmas night that was my second time with the restaurant. Quiet and fancy atmosphere. We selected seafood course starting with appetizer followed by seafood and beef. Ordered abalone in addition to the course menu. All teppanyaki dishes tasted so good. This special sizzling Ebisu beef was juicy and tender. Enjoyed coffee and fruits in the end of dinner. Great atmosphere with awesome seafood and beef!

High quality beef teppanyaki restaurant. Lunch time is more reasonable than night. 5000-8000 yen per person for lunch which is expensive but worth it for the quality.

Amazing Time ! If you have the chance to be around, and a little money to put in, you should do it. The ingredients, the food and the experience with the staff is incredible. Definitely not something you'll do every evening but it worth it ! To be noted, you will, on top, enjoy a great view from the 22nd floor ! Thanks for this moment

Amazing experience from customer service to the food and preparation. We had a private room with a nice view of Tokyo. At the end there was also a sofa for us to eat our desserts and drink our coffee. The wagyu was from Kagoshima. It was absolutely delicious and melts in your mouth.
