I wanted to give this place 5 stars, the atmosphere alone is worth the trip to this little mountain village and beautifully maintained farmhouse. But I just didn't love the soba, and I eat soba a lot. I have tried quite a lot of varieties in different parts of Japan, and I don't know what it is, but the soba here wasn't excellent. I would go again with people who were visiting for the first time, but the soba itself was average.
