T	T Kanamori on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 目黒駅から3分ぐらいの地に鎮座する誕生八幡神社は、戦国時代初頭の文明年間(1469～1487年)、太田道灌が夫人の懐妊にあたって、筑前国・宇美八幡宮を勧請し創建されたといわれています。男児(資康)が無事出生したことから、江戸時代までは誕生八幡宮と称され、安産の守り神とされました。毎年9月中旬に開催される「目黒のさんま祭り」では、会場の中心となります。ご祭神は、誉田別命、相殿神が神功皇后・竹内宿禰です。 1970(昭和45)年に移転改築された八幡造の社殿は、道路拡幅の際に社地が削られた影響で、1階部分の社務所上に社殿という二階建て構造になっています。社頭にそびえる二本のイチョウの大樹は、ご神木とは書かれていませんが、樹齢250～300年になる品川区の指定天然記念物です。拝殿前左手には末社・重箱稲荷神社が奉斎されています。「重箱」の由来は、以下のように伝わっています。三代将軍・徳川家光が当地付近で鷹狩りを行っていた際、放った鷹が帰ってこなくなった。落胆していた家光は、この稲荷を偶然見つけ、持参していた弁当の重箱を社前に供えて祈願するところ、鷹が戻ってきたといことです。現在でも重箱を扱う弁当業者などが商売繁盛の祈願に訪れるとのことです。社殿1階に社務所はありますが、神職の方は常駐していないので、御朱印はいただけません。 It is said that the birth Hachiman Shrine, which sits about 3 minutes from Meguro Station, was constructed by soliciting Umi Hachimangu, Chikuzen Province, during his wife's pregnancy during the civilization period (1469-1487) at the beginning of the Warring States Period.
