The museum itself is a bit far from the station so one needs a bit of walking, or to take the bus. The museum is spacious with all sorts of experiments one can try personally. The planetarium explanation is informative and relaxing too.

You can pack a lunch and bring food in, small table in exhibition room between sections. Or a bench at entrance. The cafe is smaller & was a LONG wait (during Obon...). Has drink vending machines near shoppe. Kids loved all the climbing exhibits!! Especially the one up the stairs. If you buy planetarium tickets (you get 2 shows), I’d plan on a good 3-4 hour stay for shows + exhibits. Highly recommended! Will go again.

Strangely, this planetarium boast about having the best planetarium projector in the world! Allow yourself for half a day or more if visiting with children and willing to see panorama movie and enjoy the planetarium show.

It has a fix exposition, planetarium and several extra activities. Will repeat and try some activities next time.
