 A small village. On a great day just before harvesting rice, Nihonsugi at Matsuo Shrine is wonderful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 山菜狩りで来て、 天気が良くて夜は星空と蛙の音で大自然の魅力を感じる。 泊まりの荻の屋は昔の家に見えますが中には部屋が広くて何でも揃ってあって、とても快適だった。自炊でめっちゃ楽❗️
I came by hunting wild plants, and when the weather was nice, I felt the charm of nature with the starry sky and the sound of frogs at night. The Ogiya where I stayed looks like an old house, but the room was large and everything was available, so it was very comfortable. Self-catering is really easy ❗️

ほんの数件でしたが 維持していくのが大変だろうなぁ！とおもいながら見学してきました

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ こじんまりとしてますがいいとこだと思います。すいてるしね、宿泊もできるみたいです^ ^新潟市内からバイクで行くのにちょうどいい距離ですね。これからも、茅葺き屋根維持保存していってくださいませ。
It's small, but I think it's good. It's nice, it seems that you can stay overnight ^ ^ It's just the right distance to go by motorcycle from Niigata city. Please continue to maintain and preserve thatched roofs.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 県道12号から少し登った高台にある集落です。茅葺屋根の建屋が4、5棟並んでいます。THE田舎の風景というべき場所で、非常にのどかな場所ですね。逆に言うと何もありません（笑）
大体徒歩20分程度で散策できます。
集落の外れには崩れかけの茅葺屋根のお家もあり、徐々に朽ちていく里山の集落なのかもしれない。一応茅葺きのお宿がりますが、お土産物屋やイートインなどはありません。駐車場は集落の入り口（神社前）にフリーの広場がありそこに駐車します。茅葺きの宿でプレミアムな体験とかできるのかな、白川郷のような観光地ではないので注意しましょう。
It is a village on a hill that is a little climbed from prefectural road No. 12. There are 4 or 5 thatched roof buildings. THE Countryside scenery, a very peaceful place. To put it the other way around, there is nothing (laughs)
You can take a walk in about 20 minutes on foot.
There is also a house with a thatched roof that is about to collapse on the outskirts of the village, and it may be a village of satoyama that gradually decays. There is a thatched-roof inn, but there are no souvenir shops or eat-ins. There is a free parking lot at the entrance of the village (in front of the shrine), and you can park there. I wonder if you can have a premium experience at a thatched-roof inn, but be aware that it is not a tourist destination like Shirakawa-go.

四季折々で変わるので
紅葉シーズンと冬の雪景色も見てみたいと思います。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ９月下旬に訪問しましたが、稲刈りかわ半分終わった頃で残った稲穂の上を赤とんぼが乱舞していてのどかでいい雰囲気でした。車なら柏崎市内から１時間程。公共交通ならほくほく線のまつだい駅（十日町市）からタクシーで２０分程です。
I visited in late September, and it was a peaceful atmosphere with red dragonflies dancing on the remaining rice ears when half of the rice harvesting was finished. About 1 hour by car from Kashiwazaki city. By public transport, it takes about 20 minutes by taxi from Matsudai Station (Tokamachi City) on the Hokuhoku Line.
