★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 県道2号から関小学校方面へ進むと、船坂山展望台入口が見えてきます。入口を通り過ぎると船坂峠に行くことができるようですが、災害で通行止めが続いています。
展望台入口の階段を上ると、ある程度整備されたハイキングコースになり、10分足らずで展望台に到着します。展望台からは米沢市が一望できます。途中、旧船坂峠への分岐がありますが、恐らく藪化しているかと・・・。
地形図で見ると、斜平山の最南端といえる場所にあるようです。
車は関小学校前にある支倉常長生誕之地歴史資料館に駐車することが可能です。展望台に行く前にぜひ歴史資料館も訪れてみてください、入館無料です。

 From Prefectural Road No. 2, head toward Seki Elementary School and you will see the entrance to Funasakayama Observatory. It seems that you can go to Funasaka Toge after passing the entrance, but the road is closed due to the disaster.
If you go up the stairs at the entrance of the observatory, you will reach the observatory in less than 10 minutes, which will be a well-maintained hiking course. You can overlook Yonezawa City from the observatory. There is a branch to the old Funasaka Toge on the way, but maybe it's bushy ...
Looking at the topographic map, it seems to be located at the southernmost tip of Mt.
The car can be parked at the Hasekura Tsunenaga Birthplace History Museum in front of Seki Elementary School. Before you go to the observatory, be sure to visit the History Museum, which is free of charge.
