One of Japan's Three Great Suitengu Shrines
It was founded in 1840 (Tenpo 11), when it was said that it began with the dedication and solicitation of Suitengu Shrine of the Kurume Domain, and in 1958 (Showa 33) it was relocated to its current location.
It is built along the road between J: COM Stadium Tsuchiura (Tsuchiura Municipal Stadium) and Tsuchiura Port.

Mizujingu was built in January 1836 by volunteers from Kawaguchimachi. It is considered to be the guardian deity of shipping companies and fishermen, and has been revered since ancient times as the god of "prosperity of business" for water accidents, fire extinguishing, and water-related businesses. The annual holidays are July 19th and 20th, and the gods are patrolled by the Kawaguchi-cho Sansha Supporters' Association.
