★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 風情があって立派なお寺です。参道のキノコ杉もよく手入れされていてよいです。拝観は有料ですが、無料で見れる範囲でも十分景色を楽しめます。首斬地蔵は怖いものかと思ったら心願成就するそうなので、会社をクビになった人に良さそうな感じです。
 It is a wonderful temple with a taste. The mushroom cedar on the approach road may be well maintained. There is a fee to visit, but you can enjoy the scenery even if you can see it for free. If you think that Nichizoji Jizo is a scary thing, it will be fulfilled, so it seems to be good for those who have fired the company.

団体ツアーで行きましたが各対策も十分されています。
I spent a good time in a garden where my heart was washed and a quiet experience of copying Buddha.
I went on a group tour, but each measure is sufficient.

去年は紅葉の時期におじゃましましたが、先日限定の「匂い桜」の御朱印をいただきにおじゃましました。
残念ながら、前日の雨で桜は満開散っていました。
名勝庭園を眺めながらお抹茶と生菓子（3日前までに要予約）をいただくことができます。
It is a temple famous for mushroom cedar.
Last year, I used to visit during the fall colors, but the other day I was given a seal of "scented cherry blossoms".
Unfortunately the cherry blossoms were in full bloom due to the rain the day before.
You can have green tea and fresh sweets (must be booked 3 days in advance) while watching the scenic area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 亡き父に連れられて来たのが初めて。きのこ杉が印象的で、いつか再訪したいと、記憶をたどりネットで探して、やっと見つけました。
40年ぶりに訪れましたが、あの時と変わらぬ景色に感動。また、ソメイヨシノは散っていましたが、庭の匂い桜はこれから満開になるそうでした。
It was the first time I was brought to my late father. Mushroom cedar was impressive, and I wanted to revisit it someday, so I traced my memory and searched on the net, and finally found it.
I visited for the first time in 40 years, but I was impressed by the scenery that was the same as that time. Also, although the Yoshino cherry tree was scattered, it seems that the scented cherry blossoms in the garden will be in full bloom from now on.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 県指定天然記念物の「きのこ杉」が見たくて出かけました。ポコポコと丸く可愛い杉が並んでいました。綺麗に手入れされていて素敵です。酒田市重要文化財の「總光寺山門」を通って見学しました。
国指定名勝庭園「蓬莱園(ほうらいえん)」
も綺麗に手入れされていて庭の中を歩く事もできます。池には大きな鯉がたくさん泳いでいて、小さくて白色の蓮の花が可愛く咲いていました。紅葉の時期にはもっと綺麗かと思います。
開館時間/9:00～16:00
(12月3月中旬迄休館)
拝観料/大人400円、中学生以下200円、
未就学児 無料
御朱印料/(各種)300円
I went out to see the prefecture-designated natural monument "Mushroom Cedar". Pocopoco and round cute cedars were lined up. It is nice and well maintained. We visited through "Sokoji Sanmon", an important cultural property of Sakata City.
Nationally designated scenic garden "Horaien"
It is also in good condition and you can walk in the garden. A lot of big carps were swimming in the pond, and small white lotus flowers were blooming cutely. I think it will be more beautiful during the autumn colors.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 拝観料払って中に入ると、有名な『蓬莱園』と言う庭園が見れます。本堂内も見どころあり。
If you pay the admission fee and go inside, you can see the famous garden called "Horaien". There is also a highlight inside the main hall.
