旧余目町を代表する巨木で、舟つなぎの松と共に国道47号線沿いに聳えております。
樹齢推定600年とされ、根周り8.3メートル、目通りの幹廻り6.15メートル、樹高は21メートル。
江戸時代までは、最上川の本流が近くを流れ、現在では、北楯大堰が流れています。
傍らには庚申塔と保食大神の碑が建立され、ケヤキは御神木のようになっている。
町指定の天然記念物。
It is also called the zelkova of the building bridge.
It is a giant tree that represents the former Amarume town, and stands along Route 47 along with the pine trees that connect the boats.
The tree is estimated to be 600 years old, with a root circumference of 8.3 meters, a trunk circumference of 6.15 meters, and a tree height of 21 meters.
Until the Edo period, the main stream of the Mogami River flowed nearby, and now the Hokutan Oizumi flows.
A Koshinto tower and a monument to Ukemochi are erected beside it, and the zelkova is like a sacred tree.
A natural monument designated by the town.
