Also known as Nakano Castle.
The ruins of the Hino River dam lake are the remains of earthen and stone walls that escaped the flood.
In spring, cherry blossoms bloom wonderfully on the adjacent dam lake.

How about walking a dog? I thought it was cold.
so much! It was not cold,
I was amazed that the dam water was lots.
In the spring of last year! Because I was constructing, it was less water. It is a nice environment for a walk.

Initially, there was 60,000 stones of Otowa Castle of the Gamo family on Mt. Otowa (around 1501) on the east side, and then in 1533, a fort was built at the current location, and Nakano Castle (? Hino Castle) and Sadahide, the old man of Ujisato, are newly located. The castle was built in, and the castle town is also maintained. 1556 Gamo Ujisato was born. At the site of the main castle, there is a well of Ujisato hot water. There are earthworks, stone walls, empty moats, and clay bridges around that time. It is said that part of the castle ruins has disappeared because the Hino Dam was built nearby. At the time of the Honnoji Incident in 1582, Ujisato's father, Kenhide, was guarding him, so he contacted him and hid his family, including Nobunaga's wife and concubine, in Hino Castle ?. He is showing a counter-attack against Akechi Mitsuhide. While most of the people of Omi looked at Mitsuhide, Ujisato and Kagetaka Yamaoka, the owner of Seta Castle, also dropped Karahashi and resisted. After that, in the era of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, the country was changed to 120,000 stones of Ise Matsugashima (Matsusaka Castle) Castle in 1584, and Hino Castle became rough. In 1585, he joined the Jesuits as Leon. In 1590, he became a lord of Aizu Kurokawa Castle (Wakamatsu Castle) with 920,000 stones as a restraint of Date Masamune. After that, he became ill due to the Korean troop dispatch and died in 1595 at the Gamo Mansion in Fushimi. I was 40 years old. There is a graveyard at Obai-in Temple in Daitokuji Temple, Kyoto. Later, a tomb was excavated and buried in the shape of a sword. After the death of Ujisato, the Gamo family became Utsunomiya 120,000 stones and has survived. In the Edo period, the clan office of the Nishoji domain was built on the current earthworks, and the shrine ⛩ was built, and it is still in its current form. During the time of Nagamasa Ichihashi in 1862, the name was changed to the Nishioji Domain. Access is from JR Omihachiman Station ? ? Bus, take the Hinokawa Line, get off at the Hinokawa Dam Exit, return to the road, turn left and walk for 3 minutes.

I was interested in the location of the movie "Rurouni Kenshin", but I was impressed that Mr. Gamo Ujisato, who was born and raised here, was a very talented person!
that! Rikyu also praised him, so it's amazing!
It seems that Mr. Nobunaga had a great deal of trust, and then Mr. Hideyoshi also collected it.
Wakamatsu in the place name of Aizuwakamatsu
It's a Hino pine tree that you're familiar with when you were a child.
I don't have it anymore.
Feelings of cherishing your hometown.
And a business talent who called Hino merchants and made the city lively and developed.
Although it is a lonely castle ruin
It feels like everyone in the know knows
I was deeply moved!

After eating the eel, I noticed that there was a [castle ruin], and when I checked it, it was said that it was the shooting location for [Rurouni Kenshin], so I went there in a hurry.

The ruins of Hino Castle, which is also known as the filming location for the movie [Rurouni Kenshin].
Today, most of the ruins of the castle have sunk to the bottom of the dam, leaving only a small part of it.
Gamo Katahide served as a vassal of Oda Nobunaga, and welcomed Oda Nobunaga's wife and other clan during the change of Akechi Mitsuhide's Honnoji Temple.
It was abandoned after the Battle of Sekigahara.
By the way, Gamo-gun in Shiga Prefecture is derived from the name of [Mr. Gamo] who paid for this area.
It is a place where you can feel the remnants of the Warring States period while visiting locations.
