当社の御鎮座年月は詳ならざるも住吉元興寺境内勝南院に鎮座さる。
宝徳二年元興寺と興福寺の争いに焼失。
焼跡に民家建て連なり誰言うとなく現在地に祠を造り住吉四社大神を祀り町名を勝南院とし安産・町内安全・無病息災・商売繁昌を祈願し今日に至る。
蔵王権現は明治末期より大正初期に町内の誰かが密かに本殿に祀る。

Although the date of our enshrined seat is unknown, it is enshrined in Shonami-in Temple in the precincts of Sumiyoshi Gango-ji Temple.
In the second year of Hotoku, it was burnt down in the battle between Gango-ji and Kofuku-ji.
A series of private houses were built on the burnt site, and a shrine was built at the current location, enshrining the Sumiyoshi Shisha Ogami, and the town name was Shonami-in.
Zao Gongen is secretly enshrined in the main shrine by someone in the town from the end of the Meiji era to the beginning of the Taisho era.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 住吉神社（勝南院町）。勝南院（しょうなみ）と読みます。御祭神は住吉三神と蔵王権現。宝徳二年（1450年）元興寺と興福寺が戦火を交えた際に焼失、後に再建。境内に古井戸があって三月三日に潮波が湧いたことから潮浪井と呼ばれ、後にこの辺りが勝南院町となったのだそうです。
残念なのが … 門が固く閉ざされていて、お参りが出来ないことです。土日の昼間だけでも開けて欲しいですね。
Sumiyoshi Shrine (Shonancho). It is read as Shonami-in. The deities are Sumiyoshi Sanjin and Zao Gongen. In the second year of Hotoku (1450), Gango-ji and Kofuku-ji were burnt down during the war and later rebuilt. There was an old well in the precincts and the tide wave sprang up on March 3, so it was called Shionamii, and it seems that this area later became Shonamicho.
Unfortunately ... the gate is tightly closed and you can't visit. I want you to open it only during the daytime on Saturdays and Sundays.
