 Usually, the main priest deity of Itsukushima Shrine should be "Ichikishima Himemei" which is one of the three goddesses of Munakata, but it is "Benzaiten". Is it a Shintobutsu practice? Is it because of the theory of the mainland? There is confusion with Buddhism.
