★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 運動公園内にあります。単郭の小さな城ですが、土塁や土橋・空堀など見所はけっこう多いです。曲輪も草木がきれいに取り払われているので、非常に見やすいです。
駐車場から運動がてら登る事ができます。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 築城年代は定かではありませんが永禄年間に篠原肥前守自遁によって築かれたと言われています。
本能寺の変後に、長宗我部元親が桑野城主東条関之兵衛を置いて守らせました。
しかし、天正13年(1585年)羽柴秀吉による四国征伐により落城しました。
現在は木津城山公園になっており、山頂に曲輪が残っています。

階段が整備されておりとても登り易い。
主郭部に説明板あり。
城跡碑はなかった。
主郭部の周りに土塁、土橋、堀切が良好な
状態で残っている。
想定外に遺構が残っているので嬉しい誤算。
それ以外の遺構は近隣の開発によりすべて
破壊されているが一部でもこうして残して
くれているのは嬉しいね。
お手軽に中世山城の遺構をみれる、という
点では初心者向けの城跡であるといえよう。

曲輪部分は木々が伐採され見易くなり周囲を土塁と空堀で囲まれ2つの土橋で出入りしていたようです。それらの遺構は良く原形を残しています。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 木津城址公園駐車場からの階段を利用するのはややきつく、貯水塔からの方が良いかも。駐車スペースは5～6台といったところ。眼下に拡がる眺めは大変素晴らしいです。
