★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Shiogama has some very fancy sushi places with prices to match. Then there is Shiogamako, which uses very fresh fish, has some interesting local items (try jellyfish anyone?), and is surprisingly affordable for what you get (you can have a nice dinner for under 2000 yen). My local Shiogama Japanese and foreign friends love this place and I see why. One of the English teachers even translated the menu into English so if you need it, just ask!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice atmosphere. the staff is really helpful and provided us with an English menu. Aside from that, they made recommendations of the best choice of the day. Also the food is really good. The tuna taste amazing! And the price is very reasonable (for other Dutch-people: it is cheaper than an all-you-can-eat restaurant in the Netherlands and the quality is way way better). The chef even tried to speak some Dutch =)
