★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 明治鍼灸大学の 最寄り駅として開業。明治国際医療大学と改称されているが駅名はそのままになっている。ロータリーがあって真ん中に何故かD51の動輪が置かれている。
 Opened as the nearest station to Meiji Acupuncture and Moxibustion University. The name has been changed to Meiji University of Integrative Medicine, but the station name remains the same. There is a rotary and the driving wheel of D51 is placed in the middle for some reason.

トイレと待合室はありました。
駅前ロータリーの中心にある車輪みたいなのが印象的。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 駅前には学校、コンビニ、病院がありますが、逆に人家は数軒しかありませんでした。
また、駅舎反対側は山で日中は人気が少なくなのである意味秘境駅としての素質があるような気がします。
ただし朝夕は無茶苦茶混みます。

当初は明治鍼灸大学の最寄駅として設置されましたが、大学のほうが改名したため、駅名と一致しなくなってしまいました。
大学前とありますが肝心の大学までは坂を上る必要があり、徒歩圏内ではありますが少し距離もあります。
一方で付属の病院への通院の足の意味合いもあり、シャトルバスも運行されています。
無人駅かつ棒線駅で、山陰本線の京都口の電化区間（京都～城崎温泉）では、唯一の棒線駅だそうです。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 無人の棒線駅。中は清掃されていますが、以前テナントがあったかのような休憩室内は自販機などの機器は何もないです。
平成8年の電化により開業とのこと。淵垣駅も小さい駅ですがこっちの方が総延長は短いみたいです。
Unmanned bar line station. The inside is cleaned, but there are no vending machines or other equipment in the break room as if there was a tenant before.
It is said that it will open due to electrification in 1996. Fuchigaki station is also a small station, but this one seems to have a shorter total length.
