The station is familiar to locals and easy to use, but the female station staff at the green window is annoying.

There is a pedestrian deck from a commercial facility called Bellmage Sakai to an apartment. There is a small shopping street on the east side of the station, but it is basically a residential area.

Contrary to Wakayama, JR is a city station and Nankai is Sakai. Sakaihigashi station is a station that is divided into different areas. More than half a century ago, from March 1965 to October 1967, only for about two and a half years, Nagoya ↔ Kameyama ↔ Nara ↔ (Hanwa Freight Line) ↔ was born by the operation of the Kiha 82 series limited express Kuroshio. It seems that the limited express Asuka station that connects Sakai City ↔ Higashi Wakayama (currently Wakayama) was renamed from Kanaoka Station to Sakai City Station when the limited express service started, but there are few passengers including this station. It seems that it has become a phantom limited express stop. You will be almost satisfied with the Kansai Airport Rapid Service to Kansai Airport, but if you have a timetable that accompanies the Hanwa Line's famous preceding train, you can set a special express fare for Kyoto, Shin-Osaka, Wakayama, and Shirahama, and this station. Does it seem to be useful if you stop at? Also, I may return to the phantom limited express stop!

It is a convenient station without transfer to Osaka Station, which is an 8-minute train station to Tennoji. Home is also wide. It is fun to decorate the concourse sometimes with handmade decorations elaborated by the station staff.

It's a bit lonelier than Sakaihigashi Station on the Nankai-Koya Line, but it's a convenient station to Tennoji and Kansai Airport.

This is the Hanwa Line station where the rapid trains departing from Tennoji stop first. However, although it is a station bearing the name of Sakai City, an ordinance-designated city, all JR limited express trains pass through it. Isn't it the only one except Sagamihara City, which does not have a regular limited express itself? (Limited express also stops at Nankai station) Also, it is said that it is the only city designated by government ordinance to call itself XX city station. However, in addition to non-stop to Tennoji, the Kanku Kishu Road Rapid Service goes directly to the Osaka Loop Line, so it is very convenient. Speaking of greed, it would be nice if it could be elevated ... and if there was a shelter facility ...
