★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 灯台入り口からお稲荷さんの鳥居をくぐって木々に囲まれた小さな遊歩道を下って行きました。海岸へ下る道との別れ道に標識がなくなっていますが、右側の少し荒れた道を登るとすぐに砲台跡があります。
説明板と砲台の写真がありますが、遺構のどこがどうなっていたのかはよくわかりませんでした。廃墟感があり、探検心が満たされます。来た方向とは反対側にも遊歩道がありますので、別方向からもアプローチできると思われます。
訪問のついでに、おもしろい形と模様をした岩や石がある海岸にも降りられますし、灯台やお地蔵さんも見ることができます。砲台跡からの眺望はありませんが、灯台から見る景色は素晴らしいです。

While visiting, you can also get off at the beach with interesting shaped and patterned rocks and stones, as well as the lighthouse and Jizo. There is no view from the turret, but the view from the lighthouse is amazing.

自然に飲み込まれていく様がさまにラピュタ感ですよね。
全国的には和歌山の友ヶ島が有名ですが、大分にも結構残ってますよ。是非周辺含めて散策してみて下さいね。
