★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Take the JR Train to this station from Kyoto Station (platform 31-34 In Kyoto). Great if you have the JR Pass. Quicker than the bus! Free WiFi available here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Catch the sagano romantic train from this station- beautiful tram ride through the Arashimaya region with lots of rivers, forestry n gorges. A truly scenic ride with several interesting stop overs if one should feel inclined. The station itself has a Ramen outlet which is quite decent n also a stroll in this suburb is well worth the walk. Many interesting shops n nice cafes! Ride can be quite chilly so do bring a jacket/scarf. Arrive early to book the Sagano train as many tours with locals also patronise it!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ train ride is quite nice if it isn't crowded. wasnt crowded for us at 9.30am in oct. best view is on the right. definitley recommend comimg back by boat though which can be booked the same time/place as the train along with a transfer to the boat. all easy. the boat ride is fairly long, at 90mins for us, after rain with the river flowing. the boat drops you off a short walk (10 mins) from the bamboo grove which is a bonus.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ from this station you can go for boat riding through oi river , this is old style red train will take all the way up north and you get back by boat in one booking from here , the destination is Torokko Kameoka Staation , it was fantastic experience and one best you need to try
