Very, very disappointing experience. I’ve seen doctors here who are just plain rude and instantly dismissive. I’ve started sending test results to my old GP in the UK for a second opinion and he’s been shocked that the RHMC doctors didn’t follow up on what was clearly on the paper. My translator was also scolded for allowing me to ask too many questions. However, my main issue is that prescriptions have to renewed every month and that requires coming into the surgery and having a consult with a doctor. Who on earth has time for that? When I asked very politely if there was a way around this, I was told rather emphatically that it was clinic policy and to find another clinic. Being a patient here is a test for anyone’s patience. No amount of politeness will help you here.

I really, really regret signing up to this clinic. They have wasted so many of my holiday by making me come in for needless consultations that take less than 30 seconds (I’ve timed them). They refuse to do telephone consultations for results or booking procedures. The dermatologist I saw was unsympathetic to the point of being hostile and made no effort to explain my test results. You have to come in every month to renew a prescription so they can charge you yet another consultation fee. They are inflexible and quite rude telling me to find another clinic when I asked about their prescription policy (looks like I’m not the only patient who took issue with it). When you try to leave, they won’t transfer medical files or print out results. You’ll need to pay over 3,000 yen to get a CD burned. I don’t think they realize it’s 2021. There is no patient first mentality here. None. Stay away. There are much better English speaking clinics in Toyko.

I come to this clinic once a year for the annual health checkup ("人間ドック") that is required for company employees as per Japan’s Industrial Safety and Health Act. Phone reservations and communication at the clinic can occur in English, and while the staff's foreign-language abilities fluctuate and are often mixed with fragments of Japanese, there has never been a major communication issue so far. The health checkup itself is carried out quickly and efficiently, with very little waiting time between the various tests. Overall, I am satisfied with this clinic and surprised at the high amount of negative reviews -- but I appreciate that the expectations and experience for walk-in patients may differ from that of patients running through a pre-configured series of steps.

Now this is my regular clinic. I have done previously full health checkup here. I am doing my regular checkup for ENT and heart condition. 5min walk from Roppongi station and FULLY ENGLISH SUPPORT.

Edited: I have really bad dust allergies that caused extreme headaches. Needed to see a doctor to prescribe medicine. Spoke to two receptionist who insisted I could not see a doctor and needed a neurosurgeon to deal with my allergies. Then they said they Would not see me due to not having any general doctors who could prescribe medicine. Insisted I went to another doctor even tho I’ve been here multiple times. After wasting a Saturday morning getting there and waiting I quickly googled for an international clinic close by. Found Hiroo international clinic. With only 15 mins before closing and waiting 10 mins I was in the doctors office speaking with an actual doctor not a receptionist. I was given the meds I needed and even a flu shot! Overall the treatment of people at RHC is that of animals and not humans who are in need. Recommend Hiroo international clinic as they were incredibly understanding, helpful and didn’t just want to “tick boxes” like most clinics do.

A major source of frustration as a foreigner in Japan is that the choices for medical care seem to be either tiny one doctor clinics or full hospitals. While I didn't think my case was serious enough for a hospital, I definitely didn't want to risk delays from waiting for tests to be sent to another site and the results sent back. This clinic was the perfect balance for my case - they were able to provide me with English support and were able to complete all the necessary tests+results (blood, urine, ultrasound) in under 90 minutes. They are taking covid prevention measures very seriously with separate check-ins for people presenting with fever.

I do not recommend this clinic at all. Terrible service with rude translator and receptionist. I came to clinic on March 2021 with throat issue, and since then otolaryngologist could not give a proper medicine to cure it, his treatment just included anti allergy medicine which clearly was not helping me. I was seeing him every one and half month until September 2021 without any improvement and he himself just kept prescribing me the same medicine over and over again. Today I came to clinic to see both gynecologist with some issue and otolaryngologist with the same issue (I just wanted to give a try again), but translator and receptionist did not allow me to see neither gynecologist nor otolaryngologist saying that throat issue is similar to omicron. I tried to explain that I am an old patient and I was going under their otolaryngologist' treatment for almost a year and the doctor himself said I have some type of "allergy" and it cannot be corona (I have no fever or any other symptoms) but at the end they just suggested to go to another clinic lol. I feel like these two ladies think themselves as qualified doctors to define the patients' diagnosis. Overall the clinic did not give me a proper treatment, just wasted my time and money. I highly recommend do not go to this clinic at any cost.

I reached out to this clinic as I was looking for an English-speaking doctor. Since I was a first timer, I was asked to come straight for the outpatient services and to my relief the clinic wasn’t crowded at all, and I was asked to fill a form and also share all symptoms that I was having. Since I was having cold-like symptoms, they asked me to wait in a room that was covered with plastic all around, probably to contain the virus. After a long wait, a nurse came to take my blood sample.. and after a while the same nurse came to take me for a CT scan that surprised me since I hadn’t even met the doctor yet and they were just taking my tests without informing me. I asked for an explanation and a translator told me that the doctor needed to see these reports before she would see me to rule out pneumonia or other illnesses. I found it exaggerating since I had only mild symptoms of cold and cough. But anyway, I didn’t want to argue further as it was my first time at any Japanese clinic and I didn’t know the exact protocol so I just followed with the tests. After another long wait the Doctor finally saw me and told me what I already knew - that I had common cold and wrote me a lengthy prescription. The doctor couldn’t speak English but the translator was there to explain what she was telling. Overall it took me about 2hrs to get the prescription for common cold. I paid about 8k for the tests and consultation after showing my Japanese health insurance. I am satisfied with my prescription, the staff and the clinic; but I think the tests were totally avoidable.
