★ ★ ★ ★ ★ この付近の地名に「六丁の目」と「六丁目」があるのを知っていますか。
二つの地域は隣接しているからまたややっこしいん。
古くからの地名が「六丁目」で区画整理したところを「六丁の目」と呼ぶのだそうです。
ところで、ここにはこの「六丁目」の由来となった石板があります。
鎌倉時代の中期、一遍上人がこの地に来たと伝わっています。
一遍上人はここで念仏弘通が行われた時、道ばたの平らな石に六字の名号「南無阿弥陀仏」の文字を書いたそうです。
この六字の銘がそのまま石に刻んだように浮かび出たのがこの碑であるといわれています。
これを「六字の銘」を呼んでいましたが、訛って「ろくちょうのめ」というようにたったといわれています。(他説あり)
さて、碑の文字が何故か鏡文字(左右逆)になっています。
どうしてなのか理由はわかりません。でも、「そのまま石に刻んだように」というところにヒントがあるのかもしれません。
六字の銘を紙に書き石に写し取ったら左右が逆になるから、、、碑を作るときに紙の裏から写し取っちゃったのかもね？
さて、ここには「孝子藤生碑」というものがあります。
藤生は寝たきりになった母を八年間も看病し、母の死後の数か月後に母を追うように死んだそうです。
短命な昔において、八年間は長い時間だったのでしょうね。
この話は泉区のほうまで伝わっていて、有志がここに石碑を立てたそうです。
悲しい事件がおきるこの時代において、顧みるべき碑がここにあります。

It is said that it is this monument that appeared as if the inscription of these six characters were carved on the stone as it is.
This was called "the inscription of the six letters", but it is said that it is just like "Rokucho Nome". (There is another theory)
By the way, the letter of the monument is somehow a mirror letter (right and left reverse).
I do not know the reason why. But there may be hints at the place "as it was carved in stone".
If you write the inscriptions of the six characters on a piece of paper and copy it on a stone, the right and left will be reversed, so maybe you copied it from the back of the paper when you made the monument?
By the way, there is a thing called "Takako Fujisei monument" here.
Fujio nursed her bedridden mother for eight years, and died a few months after her death so as to chase her.
In the short-lived old days, eight years would have been long.
This story is transmitted to the direction of Izumi Ward, and it is said that a volunteer erected a stone monument here.
