★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 立て看板によるとここに祭られている白狐には次のような伝説がありました。
ここには竜門山洞雲寺の前身である「蓮葉山円通寺」があったそうです。
その寺を二匹の大蛇が湖に沈めてしまった。
市名坂村の佐藤藤佐衛門という人が、この状況を改善したいと岩沼にある竹駒神社に願掛けをしていたそうです。
加州椙樹林大乗寺三世 明峯素哲禅師が岩沼を音連れた時に、白髪の老人が佐藤藤佐衛門に引き合わせたというのです。
佐藤藤佐衛門に蓮葉山円通寺の状況を聞いた禅師が大蛇を飛散させたというのです。
この白髪の老人というのがここに祭られている白狐と言われています。
(説明文によれば、祭られている狐が老人として現れたのではなく、狐の犒労を示して祠をつくったとあります)
はじめ「白狐観音」と聞いて神仏習合の名残で、白い狐のうえに観音様がのっている像があるのかと思っていましたがそのようなものはありませんでした。
落ちぶれていた神社には「竹駒神社」威厳が必要だったのかもしれませんね。お稲荷様が支持している寺の復興という大義が必要だったのだと思いました。
(それだけ打駒神社には格式があったということでしょうか。)

This old man with white hair is said to be the white fox that is enshrined here.
(According to the explanation, the fox that was enshrined did not appear as an old man, but created a shrine by showing the labor of the fox.)
At first, when I heard "White fox Kannon", I was wondering if there was a statue of Kannon on a white fox, which was a remnant of the Shintobutsu tradition, but there was no such thing.
Perhaps the shrines that had fallen apart needed the dignity of "Takekoma Shrine." I thought it was necessary to have the cause of the reconstruction of the temple that Inari supported.
(Isn't it true that Ukoma Shrine had a formality?)
