founded in 1895 and still going strong these days.
this is the restaurant where tonkatsu, kaki furai, omu rice and other comfort food standarts were first created.
so if you are looking for the birthplace of Yoshoku style, it's here!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was so excited to see long lines at the restaurant and the reputation and positive reviews online. Thus I neverminded expensive 20 dollar price for an omurice.
(With a 'star sticker' on top of the menu to show its famous.)
And what I got was nothing more than a 5 dollar convenient store food visual.
It's not worth the hype. And I had so much more statisfaction from 8 dollar omurice restaurant somewhere else.
Just don't order omurice here. You won't get anything special

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Time stood still in this retro-looking more than a hundred year-old restaurant. Chicken cutlet is super light but juicey. All fried food is amazingly non-greasy. Fresh, tasty, without being fancy. Just basically good food. Located behind the Apple store in Ginza. Not to be missed.

Omurice is delish. The taste is decent and standard. Sadly, I think it is a bit overpriced for 2100¥.
My friend got Hayashi rice. The overall taste is good but too much sweet.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have ordered the omelet rice (2100yen), the taste was good but not outstanding. I believe the taste of this is overrated on tv shows and other comments from social media. If you want to try omelet rice in Tokyo then you have tones of other choices other than this restaurant.
