御祭神は別雷神。本宮は京都の賀茂別雷神社。寛永年間（1624-1645）に平沼縫右ェ門氏が海岸で一本の流木を拾ったところ青い光を発したため，村人と相談しお祀りしたのが始まり。社は元は海岸近くにあったものの飛砂で埋まってしまうため，嘉永2（1849）年に現在地に遷座。爾来，天候の神様として尊崇を集めているそうです。国道51号線を南下し，東へ大きくカーブする辺り，海の方向へ狭い路地を進んでいくと突然左手に立派な石垣と鳥居が現れ正直驚きました。階段の途中の踊り場にはベンチがあり，石碑が整然と並びます。さらに階段を上った先が境内で，優美な拝殿，裏には朱色の見事な造営の御本殿が鎮座していらっしゃいました。全てが新しく見え，塵ひとつなき境内です。拝殿・鳥居は平成7年に，東日本大震災で倒壊した石垣は平成25年に修復されたそうで，その時に境内全般も整備されたのでしょうか。鳥居前の狭い道路を北に進むとＴ字路となりますが，ここに道幅いっぱいの古い大鳥居がありました。その向こうがなぜか墓地ですが，本来の参道はこちらからだったのでしょう。

There is a bench at the landing along the stairs, and stone monuments are lined up neatly. Further up the stairs was the precincts, and the elegant hall of worship and the magnificent vermilion construction of the main hall of the shrine were in the back. Everything looks new and there is no dust. It seems that the worship hall and torii were restored in 1995, and the stone wall that was destroyed by the Great East Japan Earthquake was restored in 2013. At that time, was the entire precincts maintained? If you go north on the narrow road in front of the torii, you will come to a T-shaped road, but there was an old torii with a full width. The graveyard is somehow over there, but the original approach was probably from here.
