★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I came here for dinner twice in one week, and both time I was blown away with the food and the service. The staff were really kind and attentive, and the food was always absolutely delicious. Some of the best meals I’ve ever had. It is a bit pricey, but I felt like it was worth it. Both times I was there the staff also gave me a bread roll to take home with me (for free), and I’ll definitely come back next time I’m in Japan.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited for dinner. Food was not bad and the service was fast. However, course was supposed to include complimentary welcome drink which they forgot to include and drinks were charged. Partially my mistake for not saying anything (I tried to check the course to confirm that welcome drinks were actually included - booked from tabelog app - but there was not signal on the phone as the place is in a basement).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you come to Ikebukuro, you should try Racines for a lunch, a tea or a dinner. The food is good, the breads are good too (especially the premium soft bread, a must try!) and the interior’s decoration is quite nice. This place opened in 2011 and has aged well.
If you want to get just a sandwich, a croissant, a “pain au chocolat” or a sweet treat on the go, you can do that too and discover the area enjoying your walk.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great for a date. it's a bit noisy at lunch though. The attention to details is commendable, things like the whipped butter, and cutlery(though no steak knives). But some things feel hastily added, things like the canned olives and the coffee creams. Starters are good but my steak main was a let down, extremely chewy and aptly shaped like a shoe sole. Pretty staff, pretty decor, pretty pricey (for a cafe). Your date will love it, you will smile through.

Bought a couple of things and was really floored by how good it was. I am used to Tim Hortons thingy in Canada but the ones I bought at this shop was truly outstanding.
Shop will look very unusual but very inviting!
