In this case, does five stars mean everything is perfect? No, of course not. Does it mean I would go back again/have no real hesitations recommending it to friends, yes most certainly. I'm baffled by the numerous one star, no word reviews. While I can see this place not being everyone's cup of tea, would I ever be able to say one star? No way. The quick tl:dr is if you want some of the best pizza in Matsumoto and aren't really a stickler for beautiful shops or wide open spaces, this is the place for you. The good points are the food and the service. Lunch looks like it would be a great time to go, as there are various reasonable lunch sets, with the same type of pizza you can expect as at dinner. The server was friendly and the owner as well (although a little tip, it's a bit strange to be talking about all the foreigners that come and visit Matsumoto for such a long time with a Japanese family while there are at least 3 such foreigners sitting in ear shot. A good number of us speak Japanese!). Pizza was delicious, definitely the best I've had in Matsumoto so far. Creme Brule was also good if a bit on the petite side. Good selection of imported beer and some local stuff as well. The down sides are it's a small shop, with just about 14 seats downstairs. So you're not going there for brilliant decor. It's homey and fine but you're coming here for the pizza, first and foremost.

We did not have a wait on a Friday night, but this place should be packed in my humble opinion. The local IPA was great and I enjoyed the half green salad. I highly recommend!

You wouldn't find fancy modern pizza here, but you would find nice, homey, classic, Italian pizzas. The taste was excellent! While you are at it, do order the sausages and some local beer, too!

The food was superb, with excellent service, fair prices and a varied menu. You order using an iPad at the table and you can customise your pizza with extra toppings if you like. Fintan’s review below is out of date. The staff were very welcoming, and they took our contact details if they needed to get in touch due to any cases of corona virus. Highly recommended.
