安良町公民館は、明治18年に鶴岡警察署大山分署として、
名棟梁高橋権吉の手により此の地に建設された明治期を代表する擬洋風建造物で、
人々からは「分署」と呼ばれて親しまれ、昭和50年に鶴岡市から安良町に譲渡された後は、
町内の人々の努力で公民館として保存活用されて来ました。
しかし最近に至り111年間の風雪に依る腐食は早急の修復を必要とし、
今年に至り安良町町民の総意に基づき、我々の資金に依り、
地域の代表的文化財である安良町公民館の修復を決意し
鶴岡市の補助金等を加え株式会社三浦土建の手に依り、
今年8月修復工事を開始し、12月6日完工した事を記録し記念と致します。

Derived from Yasuracho Public Hall
Yasuracho Public Hall was established as Tsuruoka Police Station Oyama Branch in 1887.
It is a pseudo-Western-style building that represents the Meiji era and was built here by the famous builder Gonyoshi Takahashi.
It is known as a "branch office" by people, and after being transferred from Tsuruoka City to Yasura Town in 1975,
It has been preserved and utilized as a public hall by the efforts of the people in the town.
However, the recent 111 years of wind and snow corrosion have required urgent repair.
This year, based on the consensus of the townspeople of Yasura, with our funds,
Decided to restore Yasuracho Public Hall, which is a representative cultural property of the area
With the addition of subsidies from Tsuruoka City, Miura Doken Co., Ltd.
We will commemorate the start of restoration work in August this year and the completion of construction on December 6th.
