Very convenient bicycle rental! They have a wide variety of bicycles too. We were lucky to get a very new sets. They were very light and comfortable. You can borrow a helmet too. I would highly recommend this shop.

Great service. ¥1000 a day rental (+1000 deposit), they provided maps etc. just remember the last ferry home is around 5pm so you can bring the bikes back (to get your deposit back)

Its costs ¥1000 + ¥1000 deposit, leave back the bike before 19:00 same day. Most island bike checkpoints have a port connected to it with ferries (¥1600, from Setoda port) going back to the rental place. We got great lightweight bikes with gears! SIMPLE and lovely! Staff could have been more considerate and polite (unlike other Japanese), but since im accustomed to Western styled service, I can't complain.

Bikes here are decent for the cheap price asked (1000 yen/day). My bike had enough gears to get around and a good seat. Tires needed to be a bit more inflated, but the rest was okay. They have multiple station all along the way where you can get assistance or drop your bike, but you will then lose your deposit of 1000 yen. The main station at Onomichi also close at 19h while others bike shop seems to close earlier at 17h, which can be very convenient (we left our bikes at 17h15). There is a shower for 100 yen close by the Onomichi spot, 2 min walks to the west, nearby to the giant store. I only which they would offer some better bikes options for those you would like a bit of an upgrade.

Bad service with average bikes that have increased in price over the last year for some reason. I wasn’t familiar with the destination of Imabari so I didn’t know which centre I should specify for drop-off. The one written down by the attendant was not at the end of the bicycle tour and I only realised this when I reached the end of my 2-day cycle. The staff in the bicycle return centre at the port in Imabari were not at all understanding or lenient of the mistake and they refused to return my deposit. Left a sour taste in my mouth…

All good ! Bike one day for 1000y, the bike was ok nothing special to mention. Got the bike in a few minutes, and dropped it even faster. Cash only if i remember The bike aventure toward Shikoku is definitely worth it if you have the legs for it. Even if you’re not in shape is easily doable in 2 days. Mainly flat but you’ve to climb a few times to reach bridge level. In one day starting around 10/11 am I’ve done a bit more than half taking my time (there is a few places you want to visit in the way) and came back by ferry with the bike (quite cheap). THE PLACE WITH THE STATUES is 十字架観音像 or 白滝山展望台 and yes, YOU WANT TO GO THERE. It’s a very unique place, one of my best memory of this trip. The road to go there is very steep, i walked my bike all the way up and chained it at the parking lot (so you can go by car if you’re driving) and going downhill was so much fun (could be scary i guess). Breathtaking view from this temple. I also recommend to stop at Kousanji temple. It’s not cheap compared to other temples but DEFINITELY worth it (2 last pictures). Much more colorful than usual temples.

Come here earlier to get your favourite bike. Otherwise, make the reservation online. All helmets are free of charge. Staffs are helpful and able to speak basic English. The bikes quality is on average. The cycling lane is VERY narrow on the first two islands and you may ride close to the big trucks. There are limited numbers of convenient stores on the first two islands, remember to bring some snacks with you!

I borrowed their “cross” style bike here. It was 2000 yen for the day, plus another 1000 yen to return it from shikoku, where my 75km bike ride came to an end. Bike was well maintained, with no real problems, aside from the rear drum brake, which had very little braking power. Not sure why they couldn’t put a set of rim brakes on. Biking across the shimanami kaido was an amazing experience, and totally worth it. ?‍♂️
