★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best option by far on Shimanami Kaido. A new hotel, but one that has completely nailed it. Location, rooms and food. Private cabin and BBQ set recommended. Great service as well. SIX out of 5 stars.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ From the moment I contacted Wakka, they were attentive and knowledgeable. We cycled the Shimanami Kaido as a group of 4 and rented the a 4 person dorm for one night. It was spacious and clean. The property is beautiful and modern, with a cafe/community space that looks onto the sea.
The staff were the best part of Wakka. I was in contact with them before and during the cycle, they had recommendations for best bus routes to start on the Imabari side and even offered to arrange a taxi. I got a flat tyre on my rental bicycle and Wakka drove to meet me within minutes with a pump after contacting them to get me back on my way.
I can’t recommend this place enough.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely the best staycation I’ve had this year. We stayed in a Japanese style room that has a wide window facing the Tatara bridge and ocean. Seeing the sunrise in the morning made my day. The service was great and the staff was so kind and friendly.
We had a BBQ at our cottage at night and the BBQ smell didn’t stay at our clothes which was nice. The food portion was huge! We couldn’t finish it all so I’ll make sure to have even big appetite the next time I visit:) Breakfast at the cafe was also great too! Overall it was a fantastic stay and I would love to rent the fancy E-bike from Wakka and explore the island as well!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wakka is a first rate resort with excellent service and delicious food for each meal. The accomodations are outstanding with attention to detail in the bathroom, shower and sleeping areas. The wood interior is beautifully designed with a natural feel that fits in with the ocean and mountains. The bridge is right in front of the cabins but you cannot hear any traffic. Our stay at Wakka was the highlight of our cycling trip of the Shimanami-Kaido path. The staff are kind and professional and English service is available. A must-stay spot if you plan to cycle the islands! G. Halfyard

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed one night and wish we had stayed longer! We were a group of four and took two cottages, one Japanese-style (futon) and one Western (beds). The cottages were spacious, well-equipped and comfortable.
We had a takeout dinner on the deck. We opted for breakfast on-site which was great value.
The combination of dome tents, dorms and cottages made for a lively and fun mix of groups. Yet, the site felt tranquil and was well set up. This is a perfect spot and we’ll be back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just stayed here a few days ago with my family. I’m impressed by the high level of service provided. The attitude of the staffs was impeccable. Dinner was simply delicious. English language is spoken. Room and facilities are well-maintained. Good job and Well done. We’ll be here again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful scenic spot with great accomodation and super friendly staff. You can stay in the cabins or tent. We stayed in the tent and it was warm and cozy, a nice glamping experience. Toilets and shower room is available on the property and you get the amenities bag with lounge wear. Dinner was great as well as breakfast. Great coffee they do their own coffee brand.
