The uncle in charge was very kind. I made a reservation for a cross bike, but if there was a surplus, I was allowed to choose my favorite bike.

J	John Wang on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The bike rental is connected to the library. English is limited, however the instructions are fairly straightforward. You'll need to fill out a disclaimer form, and give them 2000 yen per bike, 1000 is a safety deposit which will be returned to you. They will then take you over to where you can select your bikes over at the bike garage, and then give you a helmet and a map and send you off on your way. I would recommend heading over to the bridge, which takes about an hour to get to, you can bike across the bridge and go down to the park or there is a vending machine for freshman's. On the way back you can stop by the beach, making sure to bring your bike over the barricade as to not impede traffic and walk along the beach and enjoy the view of the bridge. There are a few scenic stopping points, just make sure you move your bike out of the way. All in all it was pretty fun, but do be sure to pick up the bikes earlier in the day so you have plenty of time. Make sure you ride inside the blue line which is designated for biking. If you feel like traffic is dangerous or you are uncomfortable you can go into the sidewalk for a short distance until the road clears up again.
