★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 登山道は未舗装だが普通車で山頂下の駐車場まで登ることができる。ほぼガードレールなし、こぶし大の落石のあるガタガタ道が約４キロ続く。ところどころでしかすれ違いができないので、バックが苦手な人は車で行くのは止めたほうがよさそう。駐車場から山頂までは徒歩で約２００ｍ。駐車場には公衆トイレがあるが、冬期は閉鎖しているようだ。テレビの電波塔のある山頂から少し歩いたところに展望台があり、宮古市を見下ろすことができる。平成３１年２月中旬時点で、駐車場～約１キロくらい？の間で工事が行われており、ガタガタ道の改良が期待される。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 鵜磯登山口から90分位でピークに着きます。電波塔なので、別道から車でも登って来られるようですが、海風を感じながら汗をかくのも良いですね！潮風トレイルのルートになっており標識がたくさんあるので道迷いはしません。今回の下りは白浜に降りるコースで、宮古市を対岸に見ながら一気に下れるので楽しいです。時折鹿を見かけました。
