★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 名前の通り観音寺（マップでは觀音寺）の裏山頂上にある古墳で境内から裏山へアクセスし、登っていく事になります。詳しい説明は寺内の霊園壁に貼り付けられており正直なところ、この説明だけで納得しておくのが良いかもしれません・・県指定文化財ではあるのですが先に書いた通り標高214.3mの山頂まで登る必要があること、途中まではそれなりに舗装されている道から急激に獣道への変更と落ち葉などで何度も滑って落下しそうになったことがあります。途中で止めようと何度も考えながらも、現物を見てみたいと登った先は蓋石がない前方後円墳の竪穴式石室がお出迎えしてくれます。当時・製作に携わった人達は大変だったろうなと思いつつも、評価は低めにしています。車で行く場合は觀音寺付近に車を駐車させられる場所がないので、姫大神社付近に駐車して徒歩で訪れてます。登る場合は足元の装備と軍手・30分/片道の余裕は持っておくことが必要になると思います。
