★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 創立100周年を迎えて駅構内に入り階段を下りてまた上がりホームに出ます。今では無人駅になって30年位経ちますが小川郷と名前が名ずけられて少し遅くなりそうになったときは駅員さんに線路側から電車に乗らせてもらいました。
以前は切符売り場の中が広めで2、3人常勤して売店も有りました。
造りは古く成りましたが、新しくしても祖のままに残して欲しい造りですよね。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ この駅はかつて粘土輸送の拠点であり、駅の真裏に駅舎の何倍もの大きさの巨大な粘土詰込施設がそびえ立っていたそうです。
架空索道というロープウェーのようなものも通っていて現在では見ることのできない光景が広がっていたとのこと。
なので無人駅ですが駅舎はやや大きめ、待合室は広くホームに行くまで地下道を通るなどかつて栄えた有人駅の名残があります。
