The store may look intimidating on the outside because of how professional it looks, but they offer a good range of second hand modern and vintage affordable kimonos. We were an inexperienced group of three and asked many questions but the staff were never irritated and always offered help. Highly recommended and will visit again - the best kimono shop in Kyoto and we visited many!

I purchased a black kimono with red obi. I plan on going back while I'm still visiting Kyoto to get some accessories and maybe a second kimono as well! The prices are very good and you can tell that the staff really enjoy each and every one of the pieces. Highly recommend if you would like to purchase one for yourself and give an older kimono some love. The staff also speaks some English as well.

Such nice staff who helped me pick out an obi to match the yukata and figure out if I could fit in a yukata that was slightly too big for me. It was interesting to buy secondhand items, though I wish I could have asked more about the history/nature of the items I was buying. I tried my best to communicate in (my broken) Japanese but they were definitely communicating adequately with other foreign customers in the shop. I’d love to come back to look for a suitable kimono next time.

The staff was unbelivable helpful, he showed us how to wear a kimono, the different kind of Obis (and how to tie them) and even showed pictures of old japanese sandals. He seemed really enthusatic and took a lot of time to tell us everything we needed to know. It was a really pleasant visit and I would recommend it to everyone looking for a kimono or obi. Alas it is not cheap, but the quality speaks for itself.

They were very welcoming and had plenty of choice and selection of prices. Amazing time when I had no clue what I needed to buy. Highly recommend this place.
K	K G on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very knowledgeable and friendly/helpful staff. Small selection of pre-owned kimono, but they're all quite beautiful. Wish I could have bought more than one! Not much available for men at the time we went, but that was just timing I think. The owner had knowledge about the relative age of each kimono. Some of them were about 70/80 years old (more expensive obviously, but even still, only about $100)! The one I got was 30/40 years old and I think about $40. Awesome! Previous reviewer said they don't have American sizes- I'm about 5'8" and size 12, and it fit me fine with room to spare. Obviously, very large sizes would generally be difficult in Japan, but don't be afraid if you're a bit bigger. Anyway, the owner also told us they have a YouTube channel with videos for tying obi and stuff, and a Facebook page too!
